<image:title>Our Mission - We all deserve to live out our days in dignity.</image:title>
<image:caption>The Misfit Farm (501c3 nonprofit) was officially established in 2019. We initially rescued our first pig Maurice three years prior when he was just six weeks old. We were told me would be 25 pounds max. He reached 25 pounds and kept growing. And growing. And growing. We wouldn’t give up on him though and mom (Christie) made a promise that she would never get rid of him and would give him the best life possible. That’s exactly what she did. We bought a big property in Texas and initially decided to take one one more pig and a couple cats that needed a home. That one pig turned into two then three and never stopped. We also acquired longhorns, a dog and more cats. We help families who can no longer keep their beloved pets. We take the unwanted and the unloved. We take those who have no other chance and we give them the best life possible. We take those at the eleventh hour. We don’t give up on anyone here and our goal is to provide all of our animals with the healthiest, happiest lives possible. We really are misfits here but we are the happiest and most loving bunch. They say the upside of never fitting in is that you get to custom-make your life. That’s exactly what we have done and we have created a magical paradise.</image:caption>

<image:caption>All of our equines are rescues. Did you know you can get a perfectly healthy horse in a kill pen at auction?? They may need a little extra love and training, but there are many lovable amazing horses, donkeys and mules. Pictured here we have Prince (white), Bree (white), Amal (Bay) and Willow (mini mule).</image:caption>

At many labs where animal testing takes place, the animals are euthanized after. This lab has recently started a program and they are now working with us to adopt out these animals. Paul and Inky are the first!</image:caption>

<image:caption>Leo was found in a parking lot by people who actually thought he was dead. He was full of scars and scrapes. He was incredibly terrified of people. He was taken to the vet and found to be FIV+. FIV (feline AIDS) cats can live normal healthy lives! He was then brought to us for a chance at life and he is truly the sweetest soul here. He was come a long way and is truly perfect.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Opal is a 19 year old quarter horse who was rescued from a kill pen. She was skin and bones. Her initial rescuer intended to use her to teach children riding lessons however Opal was in no condition for that at the time. When they realized she was not a good fit, she was no longer of use to them and found her way to us. She is our wise sweet lady and Willow’s best buddy.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Misfit Farm - A Texas Animal Rescue and Sanctuary - Abandoned, Fatblind, Deaf</image:title>
<image:caption>RubyRose was one of our first pig rescues. She was abandoned and living under a trailer in a rural area. The neighbors were feeding her inappropriate food and she became so obese she became blind and deaf due to fat. Someone called animal control and due to overcrowding, their only solution was to shoot our precious girl. We welcomed here with opened arms and could not be happier to have her here! She is truly a queen here! She has already lost over 30 pounds!</image:caption>

<image:title>The Misfit Farm - A Texas Animal Rescue and Sanctuary - Euthanasia Rescue</image:title>
<image:caption>Peter and his brother Timothy were found in a neighborhood and brought to a wildlife center. Peter was noted to be paralyzed and unable to move his hind legs. This made him high risk for euthanasia. We were contacted and gladly took these two in as part of our family. Peter gets around just fine and will soon be getting a wheelchair!</image:caption>

<image:caption>The original handsome prince. Maurice was Teshie’s first rescue pig. She was told he would be 20-25 lbs. but of course, he grew way bigger than that! But to Teshie, that only meant there was more to love. She worked incredibly hard to buy this property and give Maurice the life he deserved. He has his own air-conditioned house and is Teshie’s first true love.</image:caption>
